Street Trees Along Killian Drive

Participate in Pinecrest's Tree Placement Program and contribute to the ecological well-being and aesthetics of our Village. This initiative aims to enhance the green spaces of our community and maintain Pinecrest's reputation as a Tree City USA, recognized by the Arbor Foundation for 27 consecutive years.

What is the Tree Placement Program?
This program allows residents to add trees to the public right-of-way adjacent to their homes. Beyond aesthetic appeal, this provides a haven for wildlife, mitigates flooding, reduces the heat effect of adjacent asphalt, and adds to the overall charm of Pinecrest.

How Does It Work?
Residents can schedule a free tree consultation with our Arborist at the Public Works Department by calling 305.669.6916. During this consultation, the Arborist will assess the area and suggest suitable tree options for the public right-of-way. By ordinance, the Village only plants native street trees in the right-of-way. Conditions specific to the site will dictate the size, location, and number of trees. Once the arborist has advised the resident of the appropriate trees for the location, their name is placed on a first come first served list and will be served as funding becomes available.

Funding and Support
Generously funded by grants from both Miami-Dade County and the Village of Pinecrest, this initiative aims to make Pinecrest a greener and a more vibrant place to live.
