We are closely monitoring Hurricane Milton and its projected impact on South Florida. We will continue to keep residents informed as more information becomes available. Meanwhile, we encourage residents to have an updated Hurricane kit and essential supplies. Stay informed of the latest weather updates from the National Weather Service and local news. 

Weather forecasters are predicting an extremely active hurricane season. Rising ocean temperatures due to climate change are leading to more evaporation and energized weather systems. This is causing the weather patterns to be more extreme. It's crucial to stay informed and prepared. 

Tropical Tornadoes

Hurricanes are mostly known for the wind, surge, and rain threats that come with them. Tornadoes tend to arrive in the outer bands of a hurricane. Tropical tornadoes are formed with elevated wind shear as the outer band, known as squall lines, move onshore.
