About Us

Pinecrest was incorporated on March 12, 1996 and is one of thirty-four municipalities in Miami-Dade County. Pinecrest is home to approximately 18,388 residents (2020 Census) and is conveniently located south of Downtown Miami and Miami International Airport. Encompassing about eight square miles, the Village’s boundaries are generally Snapper Creek Canal to the north, Southwest 136th Street to the south, Southwest 57th Avenue to the east and Pinecrest Parkway (US 1) to the west.

Pinecrest is known as one of the most beautiful residential areas in South Florida.  Besides its tree lined streets, large estate lots and low crime rate, we are particularly proud of our five public schools, and many private schools, which are recognized as the best in the county.  With over 750 businesses lining our western boundary on Pinecrest Parkway (US 1), residents and visitors alike may choose from a variety of stores and eateries.  Pinecrest is also home to the historically designated Pinecrest Gardens.

Pinecrest is governed by a five-member Village Council and operates under the Council-Manager form of government.  The Pinecrest Municipal Center is the Village's seat of government and is located on US 1 at 12645 Pinecrest Parkway. Regular business hours are Monday - Friday from 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Access to the Police Station is available 24/7.
