Pinecrest is known as the "City of Happiness" not by accident, but because of the people who live here. Our residents are the heart of our community, and volunteering is one of the most direct ways to maintain the quality of life we all value.
Volunteering provides a way to actively shape our Village and connect with neighbors who share your interests. Whether you are beautifying a park or helping a family in need, your work yields visible, local results that improve our collective quality of life. By getting involved, you play a hands-on role in stewardship, helping to preserve Pinecrest’s environment and unique character for current neighbors and future generations.
Volunteer Opportunities:
Village of Pinecrest: Engage with various departments on environmental projects, youth programs, and senior services that keep Pinecrest running efficiently. Sign up with this application.
Pinecrest Parks & Recreation needs a few volunteers for the Daddy Daughter Dance on February 6th, 2026. Please email gzoghbi@pinecrest-fl.gov to sign up.
Pinecrest Gardens: Immerse yourself in nature and the arts. Roles range from getting your hands dirty, maintaining our botanical landscapes, to serving as ushers and greeters during our cultural festivals and concerts. Learn more here.
PORCH Pinecrest: Join this all-volunteer hunger relief effort that connects neighbors to fight local hunger. As a Neighborhood Coordinator or volunteer, you help collect non-perishable food that neighbors leave on their front porches once a month. These donations are then sorted and delivered directly to local schools and families in need. Get involved.
Panther Pantry: Support Miami Palmetto Senior High’s dedicated food pantry. Founded by a student to help fellow students facing food insecurity or homelessness, this is the only school pantry in the district run entirely on private donations. You can make an immediate impact by organizing donation drives or fulfilling urgent supply needs directly via their Amazon wish list.
Fertile Earth Worm Farm: Partner with the Village’s sustainability efforts at the Fertile Earth Worm Farm. Every Friday afternoon, volunteers get hands-on experience maintaining the community garden and learning composting techniques to reduce local waste. Register to volunteer.
Miggy’s Gift: Founded by Pinecrest residents, this non-profit turns personal tragedy into life-saving action against melanoma. Volunteers help coordinate the annual walk at Evelyn Greer Park and assist with community education on sun safety and pediatric cancer support. Sign up to volunteer.
United Way: Engage in large-scale community impact initiatives. Volunteers can choose from a wide range of causes, such as mentoring students to improve literacy, assisting with senior care programs, or supporting nutrition and gardening projects.
HandsOn Miami: Discover flexible opportunities that fit your schedule. Projects vary widely, allowing you to try different roles ranging from environmental habitat restoration to leading educational bike tours around Miami.
