Peacock Mitigation Program

The Village of Pinecrest is implementing a new program to manage the peacock population, addressing concerns from residents who find the birds to be a nuisance, while being sensitive to those who appreciate their presence in the community. On June 13, 2023, Village Council adopted Resolution 2023-52 approving a Peafowl Mitigation Policy, which was subsequently approved by the Miami-Dade County Board of County Commissioners on July 18, 2023.

If you are a Pinecrest resident, have peacocks on your property, and would like the Village to set up a trap, please complete the form below.

The property owner must sign an agreement allowing the Village to enter private property. This agreement is required before a trap is set. Please click here to read a SAMPLE agreement(PDF, 614KB)  and ensure you agree with the provisions before submitting this form.

Once we are able to establish a timeline for your trap, the Village will contact you via email to sign the agreement and set up a window of time when the trapper will set up on the property.

If you have any questions, please email peacock@pinecrest-fl.gov.
