Peacock Mitigation Program

The Village of Pinecrest is implementing a new program to manage the peacock population, addressing concerns from residents who find the birds to be a nuisance, while being sensitive to those who appreciate their presence in the community. On June 13, 2023, Village Council adopted Resolution 2023-52 approving a Peafowl Mitigation Policy, which was subsequently approved by the Miami-Dade County Board of County Commissioners on July 18, 2023.

If you are a Pinecrest Resident, have peacocks on your property, and would like the Village to set up a trap, please complete the form below. Once we are able to establish a timeline for your trap, the Village will contact you via email.

The property owner must sign an agreement allowing the Village to enter private property. This agreement is required before a trap is set. Please click here to read the sample agreement(PDF, 60KB) and ensure you agree with the provisions before submitting this form. After the agreement is signed, the Village will set up a window of time when the trapper will set up on the property.

If you have any questions, please send your information to peacock@pinecrest-fl.gov.
