The Village is planning preventative foundation repairs for the SW 124th Street bridge beginning in early 2026. This work is not a full bridge closure or reconstruction like the SW 136th Street project. Traffic impact: The bridge is expected to remain open during repairs. While there may be minor traffic disruptions, a full closure is not anticipated. Repairs will involve injecting a polyurethane filler behind the seawall at the base of the bridge to stabilize the foundations on both sides. This is preventive maintenance designed to ensure long-term safety. The project will be bid in the first quarter of 2026, and additional details will be shared as they become available.
