Pinecrest Police Department’s mission is not only public safety but also building trust and understanding within our community.
The Pinecrest PD is prioritizing resident safety and dignity by launching the Blue Envelope Program in the Village.
This free, proactive tool allows drivers with autism, developmental disabilities, or communication challenges to keep their ID, registration, and specific "notes to officer" in a specialized blue envelope on their sun visor or glove compartment.
When an officer sees the envelope or the program's signature 3" bumper decal, it immediately signals the need for adjusted communication to ensure the interaction remains safe and respectful for everyone.
Pinecrest is leading the way in Miami-Dade by providing these tangible resources to foster trust and eliminate stressful barriers for our community members. This program is about awareness, dignity, and partnership. It supports our neurodiverse community members while helping officers do their job more effectively.
