Pinecrest Police Department’s mission is not only public safety, but also building trust and understanding within our community. The Pinecrest PD is prioritizing resident safety and dignity by launching the Blue Envelope Program in the Village.
This free, proactive tool allows drivers with autism, developmental disabilities, or communication challenges to keep their ID, registration, and specific "notes to officer" in a specialized blue envelope on their sun visor.
When an officer sees the envelope or the program's signature 3" bumper decal, itimmediatelysignals the need for adjusted communication to ensure the interactionremainssafe and respectful for everyone.
Pinecrest is leading the way in Miami-Dade by providing these tangible resources to foster trust andeliminatestressful barriers for our community members. This program is about awareness, dignity, and partnership It supports our neurodiverse community members while helping officers do their job more effectively.
