In 2018, the Village Council adopted a Transportation Master Plan(PDF, 7MB) in an effort to enhance mobility and to provide traffic calming Village-wide. The plan is being implemented as a long-range capital projects program which includes traffic calming initiatives, sidewalk improvements, traffic operational improvements and an on-demand free electric car service. Traffic calming initiatives include speed tables, speed jumps, traffic circles, and diverters.
A total of $2,055,760 is budgeted for FY2026 for the following capital transportation projects:
Brighten Pinecrest - Painting Edge of Street Lines
This capital request project is to brighten the Village streets by painting/repainting the edge lines on all Village roads white. This will improve safety by increasing visibility.

SW 124 Street & 71 Avenue Bridge Repairs
This project consists of repairing the wearing surface of the subject bridge; repairing the guardrail, cushion blocks, and end anchorages; repairing the bank erosion using polyurethane injection; cleaning and coating of substructure concrete surfaces; and, reinforcing/repairing spalls with exposed rebar (2.5” Deep) per the Bridge Inspection Report. An Invitation to Bid was advertised in April 2026 with an expected award at the May Village Council meeting. The project is estimated to take six months to be completed.

SW 120 Street & 77 Avenue Intersection Improvements
This project consist of corridor improvements along SW 120 Street/ Montgomery Drive, from west of SW 77 Avenue to east of SW 74 Avenue and corridor improvements along SW 77 Ave, south and north of SW 120 Street, including the four approaches, in association with True North Classical Academy. At their April 2026 meeting, Village Council awarded the contract to an engineering firm for the development of construction documents.

SW 62 Avenue Shared Use Path Design
This project consists of the design of a shared use path along SW 60th Avenue from Old Cutler Road to SW 104 Street. Conceptual designs will be developed for public input with an engineering firm depicting several options in size and location of the pathway before a final design is determined.
