Update: Raised Crosswalks Project
Published on November 02, 2026
Construction is expected to begin the first week of November, on the first of six paver-accented raised crosswalks along Kendall Drive (SW 88th St.) in Pinecrest.
The raised-crosswalks will be built where neighborhood streets meet the new shared-use path, at SW 64th Court, SW 63rd Court, SW 62nd Court, SW 61st Court, SW 65th Court, and SW 60th Avenue.
Residents on SW 60th through SW 64th will have alternate access via SW 92 Street.
The crosswalks will make walkers and cyclists more visible to drivers, improving safety for everyone. Their decorative pavers will also create an attractive gateway to the adjacent neighborhoods.
What to expect
Each crosswalk will take about a month to build, and the full project is expected to be complete in early 2027. Dates may shift with weather and field conditions. The current estimated schedule is:
