The Village Council approved a contract with Metric Engineering for stormwater design, adoption of the 2025 Local Mitigation Strategy, and a concession deal with Platea group for Cypress Hall. Attorney rates were updated, and the transportation fee study was tabled.
The Village Council approved the following items:
Collection Agency Service - Authorizing the Village Manager to negotiate a professional services agreement with Checkmark Collections for collection agency services. Learn more at Tab 3.
Stormwater & Civil Design Services – Approved a contract with Metric Engineering for miscellaneous stormwater management and civil design services. Learn more at Tab 2.
Local Mitigation Strategy – Adopted the 2025 Miami-Dade County Local Mitigation Strategy. Learn more at Tab 4.
Transportation Fee Study – Consideration of an agreement with SCS Engineers was tabled for future discussion. Learn more at Tab 5.
Cypress Hall Restaurant Operator – Authorized the Village Manager to finalize and execute the concession agreement for Cypress Hall food and beverage operation with Platea group. Learn more at Tab 10.
IT Software - Authorizing the Village Manager to proceed with the auto-renewal of legacy IT software and services agreements. Learn more at Tab 6.
Village Attorney Services – Council approved revised rate and retainer terms for the Village Attorney.
Community Presentations & Discussions
Neighborhood Traffic Safety (SW 71 Ave area) – Residents presented concerns and ideas (e.g., speed restrictions, traffic calming). Council discussed next steps focused on public safety.
Gravel Swales – Council, the Manager, and Public Works discussed enforcement considerations and program direction.
School Safety – Discussion of crossing guard needs near True North (cost to be developed by the Police Chief).
Gulliver Traffic – Manager will provide follow-up report on traffic operations around Gulliver.
