Next Council Meeting: Oct.13 - Find Out What's On the Agenda

The Village Council will hold a Regular Meeting next Tuesday, October 13, 2026, at 6 p.m., at the Pinecrest Municipal Center, 12645 Pinecrest Parkway, third floor, Council Chamber.
A live stream video link will be available once the meeting is called to order.
Some of the subjects the Council will consider include: awarding bids for landscape improvements to U.S. 1 and for pavement repairs to the Old Cutler Road shared-use path; new purchasing rules, enhancements to traffic enforcement and safety; a proposed South Dade Aerospace & Defense Corridor, and a new UHealth ambulatory center and parking garage.
There will be special presentations about National Code Enforcement Appreciation Month, the Safe Streets For All (SS4A) initiative, and speeding on S.W. 128 St.
The Council will also discuss the Native Plant of the Month, reserved parking spaces for electric and hybrid cars at the Community Center, slippery sidewalks, the 67th Ave. curb gutter, and leaf blowers.
Staff will provide updates on the Village's peafowl mitigation program, public safety cameras and school-zone speed cameras.
Council will vote on these items:
-A resolution awarding a bid to Arazoza Brothers, LLC for the US1 median landscape improvements project. Tab 2
-A resolution awarding a bid to Phoenix Concrete Plus, Inc. for the Old Cutler Road shared-use path pavement repairs project. Tab 3
-A resolution modifying existing restrictions relating to activities at Pinecrest Gardens to exclude from the restrictions outdoor parties with alcohol. Tab 4
-A resolution authorizing the Village Manager to enter into a contract with Kimley-Horn & Associates, Inc. for miscellaneous civil design services and GIS support. Tab 5
|-A resolution authorizing the Village Manager to enter into an agreement with Ready Windows for Cypress Hall door replacement and modification. Tab 6
-An ordinance amending Chapter 36, “Traffic,” of the Village’s Code of Ordinances by amending Section 36-3, “Dangerous Intersection Safety,” relating to the placement and installation of traffic infraction detectors at eligible intersections. Tab 7
-An ordinance amending Chapter 2, Article VIII, Division 2, “Purchasing,” of the Village Code of Ordinances; amending Section 2-289, “Exemptions from competitive bidding,” to provide exemptions for sole source purchases and certain unique or specialized goods and services; amending Section 2-290, “Purchasing limitations; competitive bidding,” to revise procurement thresholds and provide for emergency procurements. -A resolution supporting the creation and advancement of the South Dade Aerospace & Defense Corridor as a coordinated economic development initiative to attract aerospace, aviation-support, defense technology, space-support, cybersecurity, advanced manufacturing, autonomous systems, maritime security, and national-security-related business growth in South Miami-Dade.
