There’s no denying it –mosquito season is here to stay (until October).
In addition to the county’s active mosquito control programs and our Village’s canal maintenance and debris-removal efforts, you can play a vital role in keeping those pesky mosquitos at bay.
Here’s how:
Avoid standing water - empty birdbaths, pet bowls, and planters weekly
Clear gutters so water drains properly
Store or turn over buckets, wheelbarrows/other containers
Refresh ornamental pond water weekly or use larvicide tablets
Check your yard after every rainfall for standing water
Report standing water in public areas, drainage ditches, or neglected properties: miamidade.gov/mosquito or call 311.
