Chief Bruce Davis - 1997-1999
On June 15, 1997, the Pinecrest Police Department began full-time operations with 27 police officers and 6 civilian personnel. Since then, the Police Department has grown to 56 full-time sworn positions and 18 civilians. In 1999, the department became one of only seven 911 public safety answering points (PSAP) in Miami-Dade.
Chief John R. Hohensee - 1999-2012
In October 2004, the Police Department moved to the new Pinecrest Municipal Center. The state of the art facility features modern security elements, holding cells, an E-911 emergency communications center, an emergency operations center, and a progressive and highly accountable property and evidence system.
Chief Samuel Ceballos, Jr. - 2012-Present
In 2004, the Police Department was awarded international accreditation by the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA). Since that time, it has continuously remained accredited. CALEA designated the Pinecrest Police Department as a "Flagship Agency" in 2010. The most recent reaccreditation was July 31, 2016 when the Pinecrest Police Department received the Gold Standard Advanced Re-accreditation Certificate.
