Neighborhood Watch Group Block Party
- Date: 09/21/2019 11:00 AM - 2:00 PM
- Location: Southwest 108th Street and 77th Avenue
Neighborhood Watch Groups increase immediate reporting of crime or suspicious activity, and potentially decrease crime in the area. The content and consistency of the group’s meetings help residents learn what to look out for and how to report it.
The next Neighborhood Watch Group Block Party is on Saturday, September 21st from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Southwest 108th Street and 77th Avenue. All are welcome. If you do not live in the general area, please consider bicycling, walking or using the Freebee electric car service, as parking will be limited. Please RSVP at www.pinecrest-fl.gov/police.
The Police Department hosts a block party for each new Neighborhood Watch Group. Officers set up tents, tables and chairs, and block off streets to create a car-free area where neighbors can get to know each other. Additionally, officers grill hamburgers and hotdogs for all to enjoy. Currently, there are 32 watch groups in the Village.
If you are not able to attend the next block party, contact the Crime Prevention Unit to set up an initial meeting by calling 305.234.2100 or emailing email@example.com. The objective of an initial meeting is to gauge neighbors’ interest, establish the purpose of a watch group program and begin to identify issues that need to be addressed.
