The Department of Public Works is responsible for the maintenance of roads, public areas and public facilities, beautification projects, stormwater sewer maintenance, and construction management of capital improvement projects.

TREE CITY USA

The Village of Pinecrest has been named a Tree City USA community by the Arbor Day Foundation in recognition of the Village's commitment to community forestry.  The Village has met the foundation's standards for receiving this national recognition in part by planting over 10,000 street trees since 1997.

DEPARTMENT STAFF

Daniel F. Moretti was appointed to serve as the Village's Public Works Director on March 1, 2004.  He has worked in the public sector since 1977 holding positions as Engineering Assistant, Deputy Public Works Director and Public Works Director. Mr. Moretti was previously with the City of Boca Raton for nine years and supervised approximately 118 employees.  He holds a degree in Theology from St. Vincent De Paul Regional Seminary, graduated Cum Laude from Barry University and has a Masters Degree in Public Administration from Florida Atlantic University. He is also a General Contractor and has been in the construction business since 1969.  Mr. Moretti is currently the President of the Florida Chapter of the American Public Works Association.
